Special pacemakers tested to tame dangerous heartbeats in Born-With-Heart-Defect patients

NCT ID NCT03209583

Summary

This study is looking at whether a special type of pacemaker can safely and effectively treat dangerously fast heart rhythms in people born with heart defects. Researchers will review the medical records of up to 300 adults and children who already have these pacemakers implanted to see how well they control the fast rhythms and if they reduce the need for medications or other procedures. The goal is to learn which patients with congenital heart disease benefit most from this therapy.
