New pacemaker technique aims to stop heart damage
NCT ID NCT07360067
Summary
This study is comparing two different spots inside the heart where a pacemaker lead can be placed. Researchers want to see if placing the lead in a specific area called the Bachmann bundle is better than the usual spot at preventing long-term heart weakening and irregular heartbeats in people with sick sinus syndrome. They will follow 200 patients for a year after their pacemaker surgery, using heart ultrasounds and tracking health events.
