First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving oxytocin (a hormone that causes contractions) during the pushing stage of labor can shorten delivery time and lower the need for C-sections or vacuum/forceps. About 400 first-time mothers with a single baby at full term will take part. The goal is to see if this approach makes labor safer and faster.
