NCT ID NCT04523922
Summary
This study is testing whether adding oxytocin, a natural hormone, to a proven therapy can help Veterans who are struggling with both post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder. Researchers want to see if oxytocin, given as a nasal spray before weekly therapy sessions, helps reduce symptoms of both conditions better than a placebo. The study will also use brain scans to understand how the treatment might work.
