Love hormone tested to help veterans overcome trauma and drinking

Summary

This study is testing whether oxytocin, a natural hormone given as a nasal spray, can help Veterans who have both PTSD and alcohol use problems. Participants will receive standard therapy (COPE) and be randomly assigned to get either oxytocin or a placebo spray before sessions. Researchers will measure changes in drinking patterns and PTSD symptoms, and use brain scans to understand how it might work.
