First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving oxytocin (a natural hormone) through an IV during hip replacement surgery helps people recover faster. About 80 adults having hip surgery will receive either oxytocin or a placebo. The main goal is to see if oxytocin increases daily steps over 56 days after surgery, which would mean a quicker return to normal activity.
