Could a 'Love Hormone' shot speed up healing after hip surgery?

NCT ID NCT07430228

Summary

This study is testing whether giving the hormone oxytocin through an IV during and after hip replacement surgery helps people recover faster. Researchers will compare oxytocin to a placebo in 80 patients to see if it helps them walk more steps daily, feel less pain, and use fewer pain medications in the 8 weeks after surgery. The goal is to see if this common hormone can improve recovery and get people back to their normal activities sooner.
