NCT ID NCT07265180

First seen Dec 04, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving oxytocin (a natural hormone) as a nasal spray before mindfulness group therapy can improve negative symptoms like lack of motivation and social withdrawal in people with schizophrenia. About 120 adults with schizophrenia will receive either a low or high dose of oxytocin or a placebo before each therapy session. The goal is to see if oxytocin makes the therapy more effective by enhancing social connection and reward processing.
