Summary
This study explored whether a treatment called hyperbaric oxygen therapy could help adults during a sickle cell pain crisis. Eight participants received 1-3 sessions of breathing pure oxygen in a special pressurized chamber. Researchers measured if this reduced their pain and helped them leave the hospital sooner.
