Healing with High-Pressure oxygen: a new hope for radiation damage

NCT ID NCT07422168

Summary

This study tested whether breathing pure oxygen in a special pressurized chamber could help heal severe, long-term tissue damage caused by radiation therapy for cancer. It involved 39 adults who had developed painful complications like non-healing wounds or internal damage after their radiation treatment. Researchers measured if the oxygen therapy improved their symptoms and was safe to use.
