Simple oxygen treatment could slash surgery complications

NCT ID NCT05185115

Summary

This study is testing if giving patients extra oxygen through a nasal tube before and after ankle surgery helps prevent complications like infections and poor wound healing. It involves 200 adults with ankle fractures who are at higher risk for healing problems. Half will receive the oxygen therapy during their hospital stay, while the other half will not, to see which group has fewer complications over six months.
