Better breathing during sedation: new study tests oxygen method for High-Risk patients
NCT ID NCT07159022
Summary
This study is testing whether a special high-flow nasal oxygen device works better than a standard oxygen mask at keeping oxygen levels safe during sedated stomach exams in patients with significant belly fat. People with high visceral fat are at greater risk for breathing problems and low oxygen during these procedures. Researchers will compare the two methods in 200 patients to see which one better prevents dangerous drops in oxygen.
