New oxygen mask tested to keep kids breathing safely during medical procedures
NCT ID NCT07234175
Summary
This study compared two ways to give oxygen to children during sedated upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (a tube exam of the stomach and esophagus). Researchers tested a special procedural oxygen mask against a standard nasal cannula to see which was better at preventing low blood oxygen levels. The goal was to find the safest method for keeping children's airways stable and well-oxygenated during these common procedures.
