First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tests a new exercise program for people with peripheral artery disease (PAD), where blocked leg arteries cause pain when walking. Instead of standard treadmill walking, the program uses a sensor to measure muscle oxygen levels and guide when to rest. The goal is to see if this approach helps patients walk farther and improve overall health. The study is small (12 veterans) and focuses on whether the program is practical and acceptable.
