Oxygen in labor: helpful treatment or harmful habit?

NCT ID NCT05681624

Summary

This large study aims to determine if giving mothers extra oxygen during concerning fetal heart rate patterns actually helps babies or might cause harm. Researchers will compare oxygen to regular room air in over 2,000 women in labor at full term. The goal is to provide clear evidence for whether this common practice should continue or be stopped.
