Oxygen dressing shows promise for stubborn diabetic foot wounds

NCT ID NCT07368816

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a special oxygen-enriched wound dressing helps heal diabetic foot ulcers after surgery better than standard care. Forty adults with diabetes and post-surgical foot ulcers were randomly assigned to receive either the new dressing or standard treatment. Researchers measured whether ulcers completely healed within 16 weeks and tracked complications like new infections or need for more surgery.
