Summary
This study aimed to understand how intense endurance training affects the body's stress and repair systems. Researchers compared blood markers related to oxidative stress and antioxidant defenses between 17 elite female cross-country skiers and 17 similar but sedentary women. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about how the bodies of top athletes adapt to their demanding training, particularly in cold environments.
