Summary
This large study tested the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to see if it was safe and effective at preventing illness. Over 10,000 healthy adults in the UK received the vaccine or a control shot and were followed for a year. The main goals were to measure how well it prevented COVID-19 infections and to monitor for any serious side effects.
