Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety and ability of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the virus. It involved 1,077 healthy UK adults aged 18-55 who received the vaccine as a shot in the arm. Researchers monitored participants for about a year to see if the vaccine prevented COVID-19 illness and to check for any side effects.
