New study aims to boost egg retrieval and reduce risks in cancer patients freezing eggs

NCT ID NCT07546136

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to trigger ovulation in women with cancer who are freezing their eggs before starting cancer treatment. One method uses a single drug (GnRH-a), the other uses a combination of two drugs (GnRH-a plus hCG). The goal is to see which approach collects more eggs and lowers the chance of a complication called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). About 200 women aged 18-46 will take part, and their treatment will be chosen by their doctor based on their individual needs.
