Fertility shield: new drug may save ovaries during cancer transplant

Summary
This study tests whether a single injection of goserelin, given before a stem cell transplant, can help preserve ovarian function in women with blood cancers. Sixty-four women aged 14 to 50 will be randomly assigned to receive either goserelin or standard care. The main goal is to see if more women in the goserelin group have normal menstrual cycles six months after transplant.
