New cocktail aims to boost immune attack on ovarian cancer
NCT ID NCT05231122
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding an experimental immune-boosting drug (CDX-1140) to two standard immunotherapies (pembrolizumab and bevacizumab) can shrink tumors in people whose ovarian cancer has returned. About 80 adults with recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer will be randomly assigned to receive the two-drug or three-drug combination. The study measures tumor response, side effects, and survival.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- pembrolizumab, bevacizumab, and anti-CD40 antibody CDX-1140
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for recurrent ovarian cancer, potentially shrinking tumors and extending survival.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The added drug CDX-1140 could cause immune-related side effects.
