Sparing cancer patients from stoma bags: a new surgical strategy

NCT ID NCT07213193

Summary

This study is testing whether some ovarian cancer patients can safely skip getting a temporary stoma bag (an opening in the abdomen for waste) after major bowel surgery. Researchers want to see if carefully selected 'low-risk' patients heal just as well without this common procedure, which can be difficult to live with. The goal is to help patients recover with better quality of life while still managing surgical risks effectively.
