Going home same day: new approach for common Women's health surgery
NCT ID NCT03764852
Summary
This study is testing whether women with pelvic organ prolapse (where pelvic organs drop from their normal position) can safely have a common mesh repair surgery and go home the same day, instead of staying in the hospital. Researchers will perform the surgery using either robotic assistance or standard laparoscopy on 80 women and monitor if they can be discharged within 24 hours. The goal is to see if this outpatient model works well, which could make recovery more convenient and potentially reduce healthcare costs.
