Testing Same-Day surgery for mouth and throat cancer

NCT ID NCT03545256

Summary

This study is testing whether surgery for early-stage mouth and throat cancer can be safely performed as an outpatient procedure, allowing patients to go home the same day. It involves removing the main tumor and checking a key lymph node (sentinel node) for cancer spread using a special tracer. The main goal is to see how often patients need to be admitted to the hospital or readmitted within 10 days after this outpatient surgery.
