NCT ID NCT01839435
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether people with uncomplicated acute appendicitis can safely have their appendix removed and go home within 12 hours, instead of staying overnight in the hospital. It involved 120 adults who were healthy enough and had a caregiver at home. The goal was to see if this outpatient approach is feasible and safe, potentially reducing hospital stays and healthcare costs.
