Hands-On therapy tested for ringing in the ears
NCT ID NCT07486011
Summary
This study tested whether osteopathic treatment, a type of hands-on manual therapy, could reduce the annoyance and perceived loudness of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) for people whose symptoms are linked to neck, jaw, or muscle issues. Researchers compared eight weeks of real osteopathic treatment to a sham (fake) therapy in 54 adults. The goal was to see if the real treatment specifically improved tinnitus distress and related measures more than the sham.
