ER trial: can Hands-On therapy speed ankle sprain recovery?

NCT ID NCT04999254

Summary

This study tested whether a single osteopathic treatment session in the emergency department could help people with recent ankle sprains. 50 adults with a fresh sprain (within 72 hours) were randomly assigned to receive either standard medical care or an osteopathic consultation. Researchers measured pain, swelling, and ankle mobility right after treatment, one week later, and three weeks later to see if the hands-on therapy improved recovery.
