New patch could ease arthritic knee pain without a pill
NCT ID NCT04683627
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested a medicated patch (HP-5000) containing diclofenac sodium against a placebo patch in 370 adults with osteoarthritis knee pain. For 12 weeks, participants wore the patch on their knee to see if it reduced pain and stiffness better than a dummy patch. The goal is to provide a simple, topical option for managing osteoarthritis symptoms.
