Researchers test practicality of eye cancer surgery in african HIV patients

NCT ID NCT04704648

Summary

This study aims to see if it's practical to run larger future studies on surgically removing eye surface tumors in people living with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa. It will enroll 84 participants to have the tumor removed and then be followed for one year to check healing and for any return of the tumor. The main goal is to see if the study processes—like getting tissue analyzed and having patients return for check-ups—work well enough to justify bigger studies.
