Jaw surgery may change how you stand and walk
NCT ID NCT07350681
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at how orthognathic (jaw) surgery changes body posture and the pressure on your feet when standing or walking. Researchers will measure these changes before surgery and 6 months after in 60 people, comparing them to a similar group who did not have surgery. The goal is to understand what happens to posture after jaw surgery, which could help improve recovery care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Orthognathic surgery (jaw realignment procedure)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors better plan post-surgery rehabilitation by understanding how jaw surgery affects posture and walking.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study with only 60 participants. Results may not apply to everyone, and the study measures changes but does not test a treatment.
