Mini-Tumors may predict breast cancer treatment response

NCT ID NCT06468124

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study takes tumor samples from breast cancer that has spread to the brain or other parts of the body and grows them in the lab as mini-tumors (organoids). Researchers will test these mini-tumors with different treatments to see if their response matches what happens in the patient. The goal is to learn whether these lab models can predict which treatments will work best for each person. About 20 adults with breast cancer metastases who need surgery or a biopsy will take part.
