Organic pregnancy diet under the microscope: new study tracks health markers

NCT ID NCT05269225

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether eating organic foods during pregnancy changes health markers in mothers and their children. About 100 pregnant women will be randomly assigned to eat either organic or conventional foods, and both groups will follow standard dietary guidelines. Researchers will measure pesticide levels and cholesterol in the mothers, and follow the children until they are two years old. The goal is to understand if an organic diet has measurable health effects, not to treat or cure any disease.
