Experimental antibody boosts chemo in ovarian cancer trial

NCT ID NCT05605535

First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests whether adding an experimental antibody called oregovomab to standard chemotherapy (paclitaxel and carboplatin) helps control advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer better than chemo alone. About 88 women with newly diagnosed stage III or IV disease will receive the combination or a placebo before and after surgery. The main goal is to see if the combination improves progression-free survival at 12 months.

Active substance

Oregovomab (an experimental antibody) plus chemotherapy (paclitaxel and carboplatin)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could lead to a new treatment option that helps control advanced ovarian cancer for longer before surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a mid-stage trial with only 88 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug could cause side effects or not improve outcomes compared to chemo alone.
