New stem cell therapy aims to cut transplant complications in blood cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05316701

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This phase 3 trial tests a new treatment called Orca-T for people with advanced blood cancers like leukemia. Orca-T uses a special mix of stem cells and immune cells from a matched donor to help the body accept the transplant and reduce serious side effects. The study compares Orca-T to standard stem cell transplants in 187 patients to see if it improves survival without severe graft-versus-host disease.
