New transplant strategy aims to tame deadly blood cancers

NCT ID NCT06195891

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new type of stem cell transplant for adults aged 60-75 with acute leukemias or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The approach combines a precise form of radiation targeting bone marrow and lymph nodes with chemotherapy, followed by an infusion of specially prepared donor cells called Orca-T. The main goal is to find the safest dose of radiation and see if this combined treatment can control these aggressive blood cancers.
