Eye socket breakthrough: titanium vs. hip bone graft

NCT ID NCT07340879

Summary

This study compared two surgical methods to repair a broken floor of the eye socket (orbital floor). 80 patients with this injury were randomly assigned to have their socket repaired using either a titanium mesh implant or a piece of bone taken from their own hip. Researchers followed patients for up to a year to see which method better restored eye position, movement, and vision.
