Pill vs. IV drip: new hope to stop dangerous ulcer Re-Bleeding

NCT ID NCT05582174

Summary

This study is testing if a newer oral pill (Vonoprazan) works as well as the current standard treatment—a high-dose intravenous (IV) drip—for preventing a bleeding stomach ulcer from starting to bleed again. It involves nearly 600 adults who have just had a bleeding ulcer successfully treated with a camera procedure (endoscopy). The goal is to see if the simpler oral treatment can control acid and prevent re-bleeding just as effectively as the IV treatment.
