Could a simple pill replace hospital IV drips for infections?

NCT ID NCT06715306

Summary

This large study tests whether taking antibiotic pills works as well and as safely as receiving antibiotics through an IV drip for common infections like pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. It involves 4,000 patients admitted to emergency departments. The goal is to see if more patients could be treated effectively at home with pills, potentially reducing hospital stays and costs.
