Simple drink may stop dangerous fluid leak after cancer operations

NCT ID NCT06820320

Summary

This study tested whether taking iohexol by mouth could safely treat chylous ascites, a milky fluid buildup that can occur after lymph node removal surgery for abdominal or pelvic cancers. It involved 42 adults who developed this complication after their cancer surgery. Researchers wanted to see if this convenient oral treatment could effectively reduce or stop the fluid drainage.
