Charcoal pills tested to save kidneys in diabetes
NCT ID NCT07333313
Summary
This study is testing whether taking oral activated charcoal and probiotics can slow the progression of kidney disease in people with diabetes. Researchers believe these supplements may reduce body-wide inflammation and change gut bacteria, which could protect the kidneys. The trial will enroll 300 participants with diabetic kidney disease at different stages to see if kidney function declines more slowly with the treatment.
