Special mouth care could help seniors ditch feeding tubes

NCT ID NCT06606548

Summary

This study tested whether a special, comprehensive mouth care routine could help nursing home residents who have trouble swallowing. Researchers worked with 91 residents to see if this care improved their ability to eat by mouth and allowed them to have their feeding tubes removed. They compared the special care to regular mouth cleaning over six months to find out which was more helpful.
