New test aims to spot oral cancer without painful biopsies

NCT ID NCT07249437

Summary

This study is testing two new, non-invasive methods to improve the screening for early signs of oral cancer. It will compare a special camera (high-resolution microendoscopy) and a cell collection swab (liquid-based cytology) against the current standard of visual inspection and biopsy. The goal is to find more accurate and comfortable ways to detect precancerous changes in 400 participants with suspicious mouth lesions.
