New Light-Based scan aims to spot mouth cancer earlier
NCT ID NCT07260344
Summary
This study aims to test two non-invasive tools to improve the detection of early oral cancer and precancer. Researchers will compare a special light-based imaging device (HRME) and a cell brushing test (cytology) against the current standard of visual examination. The goal is to help doctors decide which suspicious mouth lesions need a biopsy and where to take the tissue sample from, potentially leading to earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
