New pill targets hidden inflammation to fight diabetes
NCT ID NCT06047262
Summary
This study is testing whether a new oral drug called dapansutrile can help manage type 2 diabetes. The drug works by targeting a specific source of inflammation in the body, which researchers believe contributes to high blood sugar and related complications. About 300 adults with type 2 diabetes will take either the drug or a placebo for 3-4 months to see if it improves blood sugar control and reduces markers of inflammation.
