NCT ID NCT07575074

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether special eye and balance exercises can reduce dizziness, motion sickness, and improve quality of life in people with inner-ear balance problems. Thirty-two adults with motion sickness or vertigo will do either standard habituation exercises or a new optokinetic training program five times a week. The goal is to see if the new training improves balance, gaze stability, and motion sickness better than standard exercises.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
optokinetic training protocol combined with gaze and postural stabilization exercises
What this could lead to
If this works, it could offer a non-drug way to reduce motion sickness and improve balance and quality of life for people with inner-ear balance problems.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 32 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The training is time-intensive (five times a week) and may not be practical for all.
