Virtual reality glasses may retrain the brain after stroke
NCT ID NCT07424105
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether watching moving bars on a screen through virtual reality glasses can help stroke patients who have spatial neglect — a condition where they ignore one side of their world. Thirty patients aged 50-65 will receive five 4-minute sessions of this visual stimulation. Researchers will measure changes in neglect severity and balance. It is an early, small trial exploring a potential new therapy.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug way to help stroke patients regain awareness of their surroundings and improve balance.
