First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to improve exposure therapy for people afraid of spiders. 67 adults with high spider fear received a single session of exposure therapy, with some also imagining their worst fear during the session. The goal was to see if this added step reduces fear more effectively. Results were measured one week later using questionnaires and a live spider approach test.
