First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests different support strategies to help people who inject drugs in rural areas start and continue taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. About 424 participants from three syringe service programs will be randomly assigned to receive either peer-led counseling or standard education plus text reminders. The goal is to see which approach works best for getting people on PrEP and keeping them on it over six months.
