NCT ID NCT04899024
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested a program to help gay and bisexual men who use stimulants (like cocaine or meth) stick to their daily HIV prevention pill (PrEP). The program combined a smartphone-based reward system for taking PrEP with a short course of counseling to improve mood and motivation. 239 men participated, and the study measured whether they had enough medication in their blood and avoided risky sex. The goal was to see if this approach could lower HIV infection risk in a high-risk group.
